The games kids play

I've always been fascinated by the games my kids make up, and watching them play in the pool this summer has been very entertaining. They always start out the summer with the classics: Marco/Polo and "Splash your brother in the face until he cries". But when they get bored of those they get a little more inventive. One of their favorite games right now is "blind man", which is pretty much like Marco/Polo, but everyone is quiet, so the blind one has to listen very carefully for the sound of water moving to find the others. This game often ends with yelling and accusations of cheating. Another favorite is "rescue swimmer". They have gotten very creative in thinking up accident scenarios and injuries that they need to rescue each other from.

This is their new favorite game- I don't know what it's called but it seems to involve some kids being animals with tusks of some sort, and one kid being in charge of keeping the wild animals in line. The animals make really obnoxious noises and sometimes their "keeper" has to jump on their backs and force them under the water to make them be quiet. Fun times!
